Holyrood Distillery invites you to an evening of dark tales of Edinburgh’s past, alongside our finest spirits.

Your evening begins with a rum toddy as you’re drawn into the city’s darker archives - our Distillery sits on ground heavy with paranormal echoes. Tales of surgeons, murderers and witches await.

In our Spirits Lab, you’ll discover the sinister history of gin. Mix your own Perfect Specimen cocktail - a nod to Edinburgh’s medical macabre- as your guide shares the gruesome story of Southside’s most notorious murderers, Burke and Hare.

In our Whisky Distillery, you'll discover the tragic story of medieval alewives accused of witchcraft, and of Scotland’s brewing traditions buried - but not forgotten - under Holyrood’s cobblestones. Hear about our whisky recipes inspired by Edinburgh's brewing heritage and taste one of our experimental releases.

Your journey ends in our candlelit Cask Room for a ‘Bothy Session’ with tales of the Wizard of the West Bow, Deacon Brodie, Bald Agnes and the Wee Red Cap, served with a dram of whisky.
