It is a tradition in distilling, a bit like it is in ship building, to give your still a lady’s name.
The famous Gin and Vodka distillery.

“A friend and I had the distinct pleasure of visiting Dunnet Bay Distillery yesterday, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were particularly fortunate to be the sole participants on the tour. Kelly, our host, was friendly, welcoming and very informative. Not only did we get the opportunity to smell the botanicals used, we also learned many interesting facts about the plant ingredients utilised to create these marvelously tasting gins/vodkas. There were so many intriguing expressions in the shop; we just had to take home all the miniatures instead of settling for one bottle! Afterwards, I enjoyed a stroll along to Peedie Sands Beach where I captured these photos.”
“My husband booked the premium tour as part of our holiday on the NC500. I found the staff to be very welcoming and the tour to be informative. We were instantly greeted with a gin cocktail which was lovely. We also were given a miniature and tonic at the end. We would highly recommend this tour, we’ve been on several tours similar to this before and learnt new things about the gin processes. They have a selection of gin, rum, vodka and recently whisky so a broad range for people to enjoy. My only criticism was that with my husband driving they didn’t offer travel minutures to take away with which other tours have done in the past.”
“Had a fantastic visit at Dunnet Bay Distillery, doing the express tour while undertaking the NC500. The tour was informative, and the samples were fantastic 😅 It was great to have the opportunity to touch and smell the (used) botanicals, and this offered something we've not experienced on distillery tours previously. The distillery is small so we didn't move around from where we were (may be different on the longer tour). The lovely lady in the shop was happy to provide a taster of one of the items I purchased when requested, and offered a taster of another as well! Lovely place, friendly staff, tasty product.”
“Dropped in mid afternoon on our NC500 tour before spending the night at Dunnet Head. Friendly welcome from the young lady in the shop. Offered my wife a sample of their Summer Cup which she loved. Followed by a taste of their Rock Rose and Smokey Orange gins neither quite hit the spot but, third time lucky, the Citrus Coastal edition gin was delightfully different - recommend you try it for its refreshing taste. £39.50 the 700ml Gin / £30.00 the 500ml Summer Cup. Gin pouch refills available at a £6 discount.”
“I stopped here with my sister-in-law while on a tour of the northern highlands and it was hands down the highlight of the day for both of us! The owners were so accommodating to our timing and our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and so enjoyable to talk with. We tasted several and both purchased a couple bottles. The tasting room was gorgeous! I highly recommend stopping here if you’re going north and trying their gin if you’re in the UK!”
