What visitors say

“We had a wonderful visit to Nc’nean Distillery yesterday, made all the better by our excellent guide, Roberto. He struck the perfect balance of knowledge and warmth, making the whole tour engaging, relaxed, and genuinely enjoyable. It was inspiring to see a working B Corp distillery so deeply committed to sustainability—not just in principle, but in every detail of how they operate. The whole experience felt intimate and hands-on, giving a real sense of connection to the craft. And of course, the whisky and botanical spirits were outstanding—thoughtful, distinctive, and beautifully made. A thoroughly memorable visit.”

“A once in a lifetime experience to visit this at-the-end-of-the-world-distillery! A great guided tour and perfect tasting! Whiskey I have bought there and back home, lovely coffee, and wonderful chocolate for my friend’s birthday…. After decades of malt loving this came as an unexpected and unmatched surprise! Thank you ever so much! NcNean changed my way of experiening and enjoying Scottish Whiskey thoroughly. Amazing - scenery, taste, uisge beatha. (Our visit was in September 2024 but I still remember it as if it was yesterday …)”

“After a 6hr November drive from Skye in the snow, we had an amazing tour at the distillery. The location is just brilliant. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting all things whisky and getting such an insight into how the business can be run on a sound, sustainable and environmentally conscious way was fantastic. Unsurprisingly, we absolutely loved the whisky. Really, really loved the whisky. Thanks again to Douglas and the team for such a great experience. We all hope to be back again.”

“A big thank you to the whole team who looked after us on our tour, especially to Douglas who was super knowledgable and made the tour enjoyable - even for our dog! The tour was so wonderfully tailored to our varying knowledge levels and managed to keep everyone engaged and excited. The whole team are so passionate about the distillery, Nc’nean and what they do. Their enthusiasm for the location, the environment, their product, and Scotland was inspirational. Such a beautiful setting for a fantastic drink, we loved getting to taste a variety of the whiskys. Best of luck to the team for the future!”

“Be prepared for a long and interesting drive which, whilst on an A road is all single track (with plenty of passing places). The road meanders through breathtaking scenery, eventually arriving at a right hand fork which takes you into the estate where the distillery is located. Simon, who welcomed us with a was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and supplied us with a very welcome hot cup of tea on arrival before starting the tour. Each tour only consists of 12 people and ours included half adults and half children, with the children being engaged as much as the adults in the story of how the distillery started and the ethos behind the drive for sustainability and organic production. This drive is evident and everything they tell you which I won't spoil, but needless to say their achievement of B Corp status, speaks for itself. The tasting at the end of the tour was an equally interesting experience, with each whisky tasted of being fully explained along the way, and a couple of other surprise elements to taste thrown in too. The cake is also a welcome addition! We cannot commend Simon well enough – friendly, welcoming with exceptional knowledge and clear explanations throughout made the tour absolute an absolute pleasure. This is well worth the trip and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.”
