“Had a great morning tour of the distillery with Greg. He was very informative on all aspects of the distillery and the production processes and answered all my questions. I will definitely be back for a warehouse tasting some time in the future. The shop has a warmth to it and was a nice place to enjoy my dram at the end of the tour. Highly recommend a visit!”

“Glen Scotia has never had it easy. But it endures. Of the thirty distilleries that once crowded Campbeltown, only three remain. Glen Scotia is the most haunted of them — not merely by reputation, but by temperament. Its former owner, Duncan MacCallum, ruined by debt and despair, drowned himself in the loch beside the distillery. Legend holds that he never truly left. Believe what you will. But the distillery’s particular melancholy feels earned, not performed — something in its bones, and something, unmistakably, in the glass. Pour it and you find: sea wind, salt, the timber of an old ship’s hold, a sweetness that arrives just when you expect none. Faintly oily, deftly balanced, with a thread of coastal metal running through the finish like a cold current beneath still water. “Hubby and I are currently on holiday on the west coast of Scotland and wanted to find a dog-friendly whisky distillery for us to do a tour and tasting — Glen Scotia ticked all the boxes! Super informative guide, with the host answering all our questions and sharing stories about the history of the discovery. Only thing to note, if you are bringing a dog, you might need to be careful of littler paws (see photo)”

“Brilliant tour, friendly helpful staff, make you feel welcome and like a VIP. Had Cheryl Lang as our tour guide for the walking tour and the distillery tour. She was great, lots of detail about the area and the distillery and was so kind. Made us feel very welcome and like friends when we came back the following day. She gave good recommendations for places to eat round the town and some nice pubs. Would highly recommend and will be back in the future, thanks Cheryl!”
