Officially opened it's doors in 1995 by Her Majesty the Queen. She was presented with 2 casks on that day, one for Prince William and one for Prince Harry, which are still slumbering away in Warehouse 1.
In addition to our entertaining and informative tours the beautiful CASKS Cafe is the perfect place to enjoy a meal, delicious home- baked cakes or simply a well-earned seat and an Arran Gold coffee.
Our Visitor Centre shop has all our most recent bottlings and some distillery exclusive editions.

“Fabulous tour, one of the best we’ve had due to our guide Alison’s enthusiasm, humour and knowledge. Great access to all areas too, it’s rare to be able to photograph as much as we did. Compliments to the cafe team too, quick service and tasty food. The shop is well stocked and the overall facility is, while not as new as Lagg, still very well laid out and welcoming.”
“Great spot! Our tour Guide, Donald was incredible!!! An Assest to your team! he had hilarious jokes, interesting facts and was passionate about the Lochranza Distillery. We had a superb time and enjoyed the delicious whisky! Highly recommend doing this while you're visiting beautiful Arran.”
“Fantastic experience! We did the Arran Malt tour/tasting and were treated to one of the best whiskey tours I have had, by a guide who had a clear, genuine passion for whiskey. His insight about the processes involved was excellent. Likewise, the tasting felt like sitting in a bar chatting to a friend as he was just a great, knowledgable and easy going guy. We enjoyed a huge range of whiskeys and I learnt a great deal. I didn’t buy any whiskey initially despite strong temptations - but ended up coming back the next day after climbing Goatfell and treated myself to one of the bourbon casks we’d tried; as did one of my friends. Note that we booked the 1130 slot which was straight after our ferry was due to get into the island at 1030. It was grand by car as it’s only 30mins away but was looking a little sketchy at one point as the weather meant the ferry had warnings it wouldn’t be operating - worth keeping in mind especially in rainier months.”
“Great experience at Lochranza distillery for my fiancé’s 30th birthday. We were on the tour and Donald was a great tour guide with a fab sense of humour ✨ definitely recommend visiting when in Arran ☺️”
“Wonderful Independent Distillery. Tours, Gifts and of course Whisky. Also has a wee cafe and I'm sure a great view.”
